HOSTED BY THE INSTITUTE OF PUBLIC WORKS ENGINEERING AUSTRALASIA

The Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (IPWEA) is the professional organisation providing member services and advocacy for those involved in and delivering public works and engineering services to the community both in Australia and New Zealand.

Almost all of Australia and New Zealand’s professional consultancy firms which specialise in public sector infrastructure including roads, water, power, rail, ports and airports – are members of IPWEA. Our private sector members bring thought leadership, innovation and a commercial focus to IPWEA’s industry leadership.

The evolvement of IPWEA over the past decade from its traditional local government engineering focus to public works has added a new dimension to public works professionalism. Members come from the wide range of professions involved in public works and services – engineers, technicians, public works directors, contractors, consultants, managers, and other technical staff and managers. Membership grades also reflect their achievements within the Institute.

IPWEA is recognised nationally and internationally for its leadership and delivery of products and services aimed at advancing public works knowledge
and delivering better outcomes for the community.

One of the world's most expansive states, with diversity in climate, history, flora & fauna

Western Australia lies in the southern hemisphere, covering an area of more than 2.5 million square kilometres – that’s about the size of Western Europe and one-third of Australia’s total landmass.

Here, you can experience Australia’s sunniest capital city, whitest beach and largest expanse of outback, one of the oldest known living cultures on Earth, UNESCO World Heritage reef and rock formations, world-class surf, premium wines, and still have plenty of reasons to return.

Capital City, Perth

Set on the banks of the broad Swan River, this modern city is often described as the most isolated city of its size in the Western World. Boasting more hours of sunshine than any other capital City in Australia, the pleasant weather and diverse mix of urban, coastal and culinary experiences makes Perth an ideal holiday destination for both domestic and international visitors.

The whole region around Perth has been likened to one big holiday resort with multiple attractions, miles of clean beaches and waterways, award-winning wineries, adventure activities of every kind and accommodation to suit all budgets.

In Perth during August, the mean maximum temperature is 19.1°C and the mean minimum temperature is 8.3°C. For further information regarding weather in Perth, please click here for the Bureau of Meteorology.
